His business acumen originated with his degree from the University of Connecticut and his real-world education in Wall Street banking in New York City. Since the founding of The George Group, Mr. George has built esteemed relationships and raised capital in the millions of dollars for an extended variety of clients in the fields of commercial development, real estate development, international finance, as well as the entertainment and sports industries. A first-round NBA draft pick himself, Mr. George's record as a professional athlete is significant, and includes numerous seasons with such teams as the New Jersey Nets, the Philadelphia 76ers, the Milwaukee Bucks, the Continental Basketball League, and several European professional teams. His relationships in professional sports endure and he enjoys serving as a financial mentor to young NBA players. Although he can be noted as a pioneer of the development of premier property on New York Harbor and the Hudson River, Howard Trachtenberg brings a range of development and fiduciary experience to the George Group. Getting his start in professional medicine, Mr. Trachtenberg developed two successful nursing homes, namely Lizmora and Liberty House, through their transition to publicly held companies. He served as the Director of New Jersey's Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Center, servicing over 35,000 patients each year, and was subsequently appointed to the Board of Trustees of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, whose responsibility to the University's five campuses was the management of the over $800 million budget. Mr. Trachtenberg also established The Professional Management Bureau, utilizing his expertise in efficient accounting and billing techniques for the medical profession to develop the systems into a profitable company. On a personal and professional level, Mr. Trachtenberg has always maintained a strong commitment to the physical rehabilitation of children. His work at the Children's Country Home for polio patients and the establishment of a summer camp for handicapped children have provided innovative treatments and dedicated support to families across the country. Mr. Trachtenberg has received numerous honors for his life-long work including appointments to numerous charitable Boards, and a papal blessing from Pope Pius XII.
